Our new Chief Executive joins us soon!

We are very pleased to announce the appointment of our new Chief Executive, during Carers Week 2023.

Karen Robson has held a number of senior posts in higher education and the third sector, including Director Wales and Associate Director UK Services at the RNID, and also has extensive experience of working and supporting volunteers in the third sector.

Chair of Trustees, Steve Harford commented: “We are delighted to confirm Karen’s appointment as our new CEO. She has a wealth of experience in the not-for-profit and education sectors which she will bring to this key role in The Care Collective. “Karen has been appointed at an important time for our charity as we look to expand our services against the background of the cost of living crisis, the ongoing pressures on public funding and an increasing demand for our support from carers and their loved ones.”

He went on to say, “Karen’s leadership experience and strategic and business planning skills will be vital in taking
The Care Collective forward over the next few years to achieve even greater things for carers throughout South Wales. We look forward to her joining us in August.”

Karen said “I am thrilled to be joining The Care Collective at such a pivotal time. With family experience of being an unpaid carer I understand the challenges and  know at first hand the difference expert advice and person-centred support makes. I look forward to working with service users, staff and stakeholders to grow and develop bespoke services across South Wales.

I also hope to amplify the voice of those who provide and need care in our communities and ensure that this informs sector policy.”
