We’ve Rebranded!

As of 1 April 2022, Carers Trust South East Wales will be called The Care Collective.

Following extensive consultation with service-users and staff, we have decided to change our name and brand to reflect the fact we are now the largest not for profit organisation supporting unpaid carers in Wales.

It also better reflects the fact we provide respite and care services to people in their own homes and communities.

In addition, we have not renewed our affiliation with the UK charity Carers Trust.

We're The Care Collective

We Support Unpaid Carers

Our aim is that unpaid carers are looking after themselves, enjoying their lives, and achieving their goals, whilst helping a family member or friend to receive empowering care or support.

We’re incredibly proud of being a Welsh charity, but it’s absolutely essential for us that we help anyone that needs support. Irrespective of their nationality, ethnicity, sexual preference, gender identity, economic status, or religion.

This is another reason our name includes the word ‘collective’, as we want to include everyone.

Reason For Change

Our rapid growth and the physical distance between our offices has probably also meant we’ve struggled to feel like one connected organisation.

As it feels like we’re finally moving out of the really restricted phase of Covid (fingers doubly crossed), it feels like the right time for us to work together to take a fresh look at who we are, what we want to be, how we become more united and what we need to do to get there.

We had an amazing response to the decision to rebrand and would like to say a huge thanks to service-users and staff for helping to create a new name, new brand and website.

It was really important to us that we had an open and extensive consultation to ensure the name and brand captured the essence of who we now are, what we do, why we do, and the ambitions we have to ensure unpaid carers and those who needs care and support get the help they need to do what matters most to them.

What We Thought

“I thought the day went exceptionally well. It was really interesting and enjoyable even though we had to answer some challenging questions. We actually learned a lot about other areas of the service that we didn’t know about. I’ve ended up thinking very differently about how we decide on our new name and what we need to do to get ourselves out there for people to find us.”

“I really enjoyed the DesignDough workshop! It was great to be around a table with representatives from across our organisation discussing and learning about what is important to each of us and ultimately our organisation. The process was thorough and the DesignDough guys really got stuck into the intricacies of who we are and what we stand for. I am extremely excited to see what happens next and where our new brand will take us.”
